We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

5.3 Recruiter & Employer Visibility

Your profile on Faruse may be shared with recruiters and employers who use our platform to source and contact candidates directly. Shared by default: full name, job title, professional experience, education, skills, certifications, and general location. Only if you opt in: email address and phone number. Never shared: password, payment information, or private notes.

6. Data Storage & Security

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Access Controls: Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensure users can only access their own data
  • Server Location: Data is stored on secure servers with enterprise-grade security measures
  • Backup: Regular automated backups to prevent data loss
  • Password Security: Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms

7. Data Retention

Faruse retains personal data only as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations.

  • Immediate deletion (upon account deletion): Profile information, uploaded documents, job application history, saved jobs, personalised AI-generated content
  • Short-term retention (30–180 days): System logs and security metadata
  • Extended retention (up to 10 years): Payment records, billing history, and invoices (required by tax and financial regulations)
  • Anonymised data: May be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked to you

  • Cloud Sync: If you sign in, data is securely synced to our servers
  • AI Processing: When you generate AI-powered responses, the job description and your profile are sent to OpenAI's API. This data is ephemeral and not used for training.
  • No Background Tracking: We do not track your browsing activity outside of job application pages where you use the extension

12. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence. When we transfer data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure your data remains protected.

Faruse is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
